Solamente (only, alone, merely)

Solamente carries this meaning in both Italian and Spanish.  Perfect for this collaboration between proprietor Andy Renda and Mexican American vintner Rolando Herrera.  This negociant project started with a beautiful 2012 Pinot Noir from the Griffin’s Lair Vineyard on the Sonoma Coast.  Andy could not pass up an opportunity to work with friend and renowned winemaker Rolando Herrera.  The concept behind this project is to make one tremendous wine a year with no parameters.  There are no constraints to what single varietals or blended wines that can be crafted.  Solamente is about producing high quality exclusive wines for the consumer.  A perfect fit alongside the other great boutique wines in The Wine Thief line up. The 2012 and 2013 are rich Pinots made from the aforementioned Griffin’s Lair vineyard.  Who knows what great wines are to follow!

For those not familiar, Rolando is owner winemaker of Mi Sueno winery and was the longtime Director of Winemaking for Paul Hobbs.  Over the last 30 years he has become one of the most respected consulting winemakers in the Napa Valley and had three wines served at the White House among several other accolades.
